Kari Kauniskangas appointed as new GRK board member

Kari Kauniskangas was elected as a new member of the Board of Directors of the construction group GRK Infra Oy during an extraordinary general meeting on 31 January 2022. Previous board members Tarja Pääkkönen, Esa Lager, Johanna Korhonen and Keijo Haavikko will continue in their positions, with Jukka Nikkanen as Chairman.

Kari Kauniskangas (b. 1974) is a graduate engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in economics. Kauniskangas, who worked as CEO of YIT Oyj from 2013 to 2020, is an experienced operator in the construction sector and will strengthen the Board of Directors of GRK with his expertise and support the implementation of the “Shared Ambition 2025” strategy that was released at the beginning of 2022.

The new strategy also emphasises corporate responsibility: we want to be a forerunner in sustainable infrastructure construction and to grow our environmental services. Our goal is to achieve carbon neutrality in our operations by 2030. We will work to achieve these goals and strengthen the Board of Directors with the appointment of Kari Kauniskangas,” says Jukka Nikkanen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GRK Infra Oy.

Kauniskangas works as a board member and advisor for several real estate and construction companies, including A-Insinöörit and HyperCo Oy.
