In the remixer method, the deteriorated asphalt pavement is heated to treatment temperature, the surface is milled hot and new mass is added to the worn-out pavement and grooves. The milled coating and the new mass are mixed into a homogeneous mass, applied to a new surface, and levelled.
The Uraremix and Uraremo methods can be used to patch metre-wide ruts or depressions in the pavement. In the method, a box-shaped area is milled into the heated coating at the groove, and a mixture of milled and new asphalt mass is poured into the spot.
Pavement seaming methods
Cast asphalt concrete can be applied either manually or mechanically by compaction, providing a working area with a 100–700 millimetres width. Cast asphalt concrete is best suited for groove, hole and crack repairs, and available all year round.
With our easy-to-apply sealing methods, it is possible to correct both transversal cracks as well as grooves. In a traditional method the seaming is done with a steel can; the crack is filled with fluid bitumen or rubber bitumen. In the blow method, the crack is cleaned and heated before the joint is filled with bitumen.
The so-called asphalt pizza method is best suited for sites with a maximum surface area of 10 square metres to be repaired. The mass is produced to the exact area to be repaired and the result is a dense and durable hot-coating patch. With the asphalt pizza, pavings can also be repaired during the winter season.
Improving the structure of a road means repairing the structural deficiencies of the road or other area and renewing the paving. Deficiencies include defects caused by, for example, frozen ground, loads and drying, and pavement damages.
We implement projects with the full depth reclamation method and layer stabilisation with our own equipment. In full depth reclamation, the old asphalt pavement in poor condition is milled and mixed with the load-bearing layer, whereby the old road structure is recycled 100%. In stabilisation, the top of the road’s load-bearing layer is reinforced with bitumen, cement, blast furnace sand, ash, or a combination thereof.
We also make pavement edge fillings and use a self-developed application device that uses less crushed stone, the result is first-class, and there is no need to cut off traffic during the work.
